VN Commodore

The VN was picked as Car of the Year by Wheels magazine that year and was available in either a 3.8 litre electronic fuel-injected V6 or a 5 litre (308 cu. in.) fuel-injected V8.

These models were available with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed TH-700 auto transmission.

The station wagon was built on a longer-wheelbase chassis compared to the sedan and considerably larger that the model it replaced.
