2002 Yamaha R1 + Micron Titanium Race Can

The ultimate sport bike for me in 2002 was the R1 and after riding the wheels off my 2000 R6 I was ready to step up to the big brother version. I was offered a test ride at Manfeild and the first time I rode it on the track, managed to get my knee down so I knew this was something very special.

The standard Dunlop D207 tires worked very well. The only thing that marred the whole experience was the complete absence of sound :-) ...so I had to get the Micron titanium race can for it and perfection was complete. Nothing, well, almost nothing, feels as good as a power wheel stand in third gear, just awesome.

I was very disappointed to have to sell her when work took me to Hong Kong but it was time to move on and look forward to getting hold of the next model which is truly unbelievable.
